How to downgrade from iOS 15 beta to iOS 14. If you were in a hurry and installed the first beta version of iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 on your device, then it is likely that you want to go back due to bugs and various problems.
iOS 15 Beta Release Date: July 7
Apple does not deny that the first beta versions of the updates contain bugs. If this did not bother you during the update, but later you regretted, then now the only way out is to roll back.
It is worth noting that if you have backed up an iCloud or iTunes backup already in iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, then you will not be able to restore data from it to iOS / iPadOS 13.5.1 or iOS / iPadOS 13.6. You will have to configure the device again if you do not have a copy with older versions of the system.
How to downgrade from iOS 15 Beta to iOS 14
Step 1: First, make sure you have the latest available version of iTunes installed on your computer. If you have a newer version of macOS, you will be using Finder.
Step 2: You need an IPSW file of the correct system version for your device. You can download it from here.
Step 3: Disable Find iPhone / iPad on your device via Settings> iCloud> Find iPhone. Enter your password if required.
Step 4: Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC or Mac with a USB cable and wait for iTunes / Finder to launch. Now you need to enter the device into DFU mode. This is done like this:
- iPhone 8/8 Plus, iPhone X / XR / XS / XS Max / 11/11 Pro / 11 Pro Max and 2018/2020 iPad Pro: instructions.
- iPhone 7/7 Plus: instruction.
When you put your device into DFU mode, iTunes / Finder will detect it in recovery mode.
Step 5: In iTunes, hold down the Option (Mac) or SHIFT (Windows) key and select the Restore iPhone / iPad option. A window will open in which you can select the previously downloaded IPSW file.
Step 6: Now iTunes / Finder will rollback your device to an older version of the system. Wait for the process to complete.
After that, on the device, you will see the normal startup screen with iOS / iPadOS 13.5.1 / 13.6. Configure it again or restore your data from a backup.
